In 1981, owner Kent Buell was your typical student leisurely taking some construction classes in BYU, which to his surprise, he immensely enjoyed. Invigorated by his newfound love of the craft, Kent studiously finished his construction courses and became employed as a contractor for five years, picking up various tricks of the trade and amassing considerable, hands-on experience. Upon witnessing the lack of respect and empathy afforded by most construction companies to their customers firsthand, Kent became increasingly disturbed. Unsatisfied with simply being a typical contractor, and at the behest of his caring and supportive wife, Kent decided to start his own construction company – one with compassion and strong values. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Four decades later, Kentstruction has received several glowing write-ups in various local publications and is a 10x winner of the prestigious “Contractor of the Year” award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Kentstruction is now a successful and enduring family business with two generations serving the Long Island community as certified home builders and remodelers.
